Lauhala is a traditional Hawaiian handwoven art form made from the dried, prepared leaves (lauhala) of the hala (pandanus) tree

Royal Significance:  Historically tied to the spiritual power (mana), genealogy, and status of the Hawaiian aliʻi (chiefs and royalty), lauhala was a universal material for practical goods like sails and mats. However, finely woven personal adornments carried deeper cultural resonance.
