Legacy-
This Māori design draws inspiration from a story of a great white shark guiding an ancestral canoe to Aotearoa through misty skies.
Adorned with shark teeth motifs, it symbolizes protection and strength, while the koru patterns represent new beginnings and growth. This piece honors the courage of our ancestors and acknowledges their connection to the land and sea. We carry this mana with us, embodying their legacy in our lives today.
This is in honor of the tokotoko passed down from Hamiora Mangakahia, my great great grandfather, a taonga tuku iho in our whanau.
Mālama
This Hawaiian Kapa style pattern represents Mālama, or to take care, preserve, and protect. This design can be interpreted as giving and taking as you look at the triangles pointing upwards, representing give, and the opposite direction is to take. It reminds us that when we receive love, we can return it.
When traveling, we will be blessed in return as we give generously to the land and people around us.

BALANCE
This design represents the concept of a "gentle warrior." The spear tips signify our protective and fierce nature, while the hibiscus represents our ability to be calm and gentle.
It serves as a reminder to embrace both sides of our character, as both qualities are valuable in different aspects of life. This design encourages us to balance strength and peace in our actions and choices.
